Freepik is now Magnific: what designers actually need to change
Same stock library, new brand. Bookmarks, licenses, freepik.com URLs, and how team download workflows should update without drama.

Search is flooded with the same panic: Did Freepik shut down? Short answer: no. Freepik rebranded to Magnific. Same company, same seats, same stock library, new name.
If you ship client work from that library every week, you do not need a new creative stack. You need a clear checklist so bookmarks, licenses, and download tools keep working.
What stayed the same
- Your Freepik login works on magnific.com
- Paid plans, seats, and billing carry over
- Photos, vectors, PSD, templates, video, icons, audio, and fonts are still there
- Licenses you already downloaded remain valid
- freepik.com redirects to magnific.com
So “Freepik Premium download” searches still matter. People type the old brand; the files live under the new one.
What you should update this week
1. Saved links and SOPs
Replace internal docs that say “open freepik.com and download” with magnific.com (or keep freepik.com and accept the redirect). Train juniors on the new UI labels so they do not think the account was wiped.
2. Asset URLs you paste into tools
Many delivery tools (including Nubo) accept Magnific or freepik.com resource page URLs. Prefer the concrete asset page, not a search results URL. If an old bookmark 404s after a redirect quirk, open the asset again from search and copy the fresh link.
3. License PDFs
Premium licenses still need to be saved while the subscription is active. The rebrand did not change that rule. Archive license PDFs into the client folder the day you download the file.
4. AI credits vs stock downloads
Magnific still splits two meters:
- AI credits for generation, upscale, edit, video tools
- Stock download limits for the library (not AI credits)
Do not treat “I still have AI credits” as proof you can keep pulling Premium stock forever that day.
What not to do
- Do not create a second account “just in case”
- Do not paste Freepik passwords into third-party downloaders
- Do not assume free-tier attribution rules vanished; free use still needs attribution
A calm freelancer workflow after the rename
- Find the asset on magnific.com (or via freepik.com redirect)
- Copy the resource URL
- Deliver through your usual path (browser, or a credit tool like Nubo for metered, refund-on-fail pulls)
- Save the file and the license PDF into the job folder
Closing
The brand changed. Your job did not. Update bookmarks, keep license hygiene, and keep stock downloads separate from AI credits. Once that is muscle memory, “Freepik vs Magnific” stops being a crisis and becomes a rename you already handled.
